Mixed Martial Arts: The Book of Knowledge – BJ Penn
308 pages – published by Victory Belt Publishing
While BJ Penn may have lost some fans recently, few would argue with the fact he is one of the most technically gifted MMA fighters ever. This book is almost exclusively centred on mastering basic MMA technique with little on workouts and conditioning. An excellent, extremely thorough book.

Training for Warriors: The Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts Workout – Martin Rooney
320 pages – published by Collins Living
It would be hard to suggest a more complete guide devoted to MMA conditioning than this one. In this book Martin Rooney exhaustively covers not only the physical aspect of MMA workouts, but explores the vital but often neglected issue of mental conditioning too. Another highly recommended book for anyone training in MMA , and possibly the best of all the MMA books out there.
